There's a fun retro recipe challenge up at Kraft+ this month, not a palette I would normally scrap with but really loving the bright colours in this combo, they were perfect for a Spring garden theme.. here's my take..
Studio Fourteen40 has kicked off their very first scrap challenge this month..and it's a beautiful colour combo!..here's my take..
I've created the background using distress stain and glimmer mist and layered some paper scraps.. adding some sequins, enamel dots and wood veneer chevrons.. The white script is just handwriting in white signo pen..
the cool light bulb flair is from the 'every day #7 set'..
here's the full combo - featuring lush purple, lilac, pink, navy teal and aqua..so beautiful..hope you can join in..you have until 25th April to enter..
better late than never, the first fabulous and hugely successful challenge at K+ has been followed up with another great challenge, this time it's a fun sketch plus 'all that glitters' theme... you can find the post here.. there's still plenty of time to join in!..
I've created the background with gesso, gold and aqua mists, stamping and pen work... lots of scrap papers as usual along with some glitter dots, washi, vellum and thread..
I was recently asked by a lovely scrappy friends Sandra to guest design for her little Aussie Co. Studio Fourteen40.. of course I said YES!.. you can check out the Studio1440 blog and store here, there's lots of delicious flair buttons, wood veneer and quite a bit more..
here is my first page 'dream'
I’ve coloured the sweet vellum butterfly (soon to be released) to co-ordinate with the background; using a combination of distress ink and glimmer mist
It's been an exciting month so far with the release of the fabulous scrappy challenge blog Kraft+ and I'm thrilled to be a part of the design team! You can check out the blog and reveal of the talented team here
there's also plenty of inspiration and ideas to get you started on the first challenge..which is a ripper! 'Mango Breeze' provides a gorgeous soft and summery palette to play with...
here's my take..
I've used a Crafters Workhop stencil and mists on the background and various pattern papers and scraps, journaling tags, buttons and threads.. buttons are a great way to add pops of colour from the palette..
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you can join in this month! Gx
playing along with this month's challenge at Show Us Your Stuff..you had the freedom to choose from quite a few criteria, I went with buttons, stencilling technique, the word 'love' and a square photo along with the usual handmade item..
I've used my fave stencil from TCW - Ronda Palazzari along with mists and a few Heidi Swapp papers.. the beautiful handmade fabric heart is from Citrus Twist
Scrap the Girls has a great sketch challenge going on this month..so I had a play with it over the weekend and created this page..I think it might be a new fave..once again I had fun experimenting with background, this time using gesso, mists, distress stain, ink and pencil..
