Last Wednesday was my Mum's birthday so we had a lovely lunch and visit at the RoyalTasmanian Botanical Gardens.. This little lady bird greeted us just inside the front gates
Mother duck with one of her little ducklings..
The tulip festival was held on the previous weekend..so a a good time to visit..

My Dad was very impressed by the spinach plants in 'Pete's vegie patch'..for those
in Australia..you would most likely know of Peter Cundall's 'bloomin' marvellous'
vegetables from
Gardening Australia program...incidentally ABC tv were setting
up for filming while we were there
I couldn't get over the colour of this plant..unfortunately there wasn't a plant tag
to be seen..maybe you might know what it is?
This is one of my favourite places to visit..especially on a hot day..it's the
Subantarctic Plant House ~ a room which gives you a feel for extreme
conditions of
Macquarie Island..with cool winds blowing and seals
barking... the wonderful murals certainly help set the scene too
A common plant growing on the plateaus: the Macquarie Is cabbage
Now on to a few SHADOW SHOTS..I must admit I didn't start thinking about
shadows until I was nearly leaving so more than likely missed better ones!
The last one shows a glimpse of the Derwent River..if you're ever visiting Tasmaniamake sure you come to this gorgeous place..and I can thoroughly recommendhaving lunch in the gardens restaurant..the coffee marinated lamb roast withroasted root vegetables and potato rosti would have to go down as one of the best lunches ever!! Happy Sunday everyone..don't forget to head over to Hey Harriet for more shadows from my fellow shooters :D Gx
