Here's my first layout using the gorgeous Oct kit from My Scrapbook Nook..Jem loves to dress up for the Bookweek assembly and this year she was a (not so mean) Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland..
for the title I've traced around some thickers for the 'Queen', overlapping them a bit and lightly colouring with pencil..
I made the 2 vintage tags behind the photos with a sheet of MME paper from the kit..and posted a step by step (they are super easy) on the Nook forum here if you'd like to have a go too :)
here's another tag I've made from the same sheet of paper...
I'll be back very soon with another layout..thanks for stopping by Gx
Here's another LO from last week, which is for the True XoXo October challenge - to scrap an instagram layout...
I edited the photo of Jem (in the hotel pool from last year's Queenland holiday) using Picnik..love the cool effects you can find there and find myself using it more and more these days..
I've used the Sept Cocoa Daisy kit for this one..just loving the lime, blue and orange combos.. The stencilling background is made with glimmer mist and my current fave Crafter's Workshop template - harlequin :)
Thanks for stopping by..I'll be back with a Nook LO or two tomorrow..Gx
This month at Kraft it Up the challenge was to chose from monochromatic, minimalist or vintage/romantic/shabby chic styles.. I chose minimalist!..(although parts of it do cross over to vintage style I guess - it's too hard not to!)
I've used some vintage dress pattern, 7 Gypsies tag and a mini calendar page from D-Lish Scraps behind the photo..
also a gorgeous cabochon resin flower and wooden star button from D-Lish, October Afternoon stickers and rub-on, paper scraps, gesso and oil pastel..
love the minimalist approach...and want to use it more, sometimes I don't know when to stop on a layout and feel like I overdo it!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great weekend! Gx
