It's been far too long between challenges, but after finding some free time on my hands this weekend, the first one I went for was Kraft it Up..this month its a fun, easy challenge to scrap something you love..of course I had to go with my caffeine crush..
I can't get enough of layering on my pages at the moment, and it seems like I've gone a bit crazy this time, with lots of patterned paper scraps and thread offcuts..
most papers are from 6x6 pads and I've added a few vintage buttons and dress pattern pieces..
I have a tutorial up this week at Citrus Twist Kits and I thought I'd share in here too.. this is the finished layout..
I'm sharing a technique for creating a unique photo border, using a section of the lace found in the February Main Kit, and a few spray mists..
The brown paper bags from kit packaging come in handy for spraying between...I just placed a strip of lace between to bags and sprayed around where my photo was to go in alternating colours. This time I've used a turquoise, mustard (gold) and graphite (grey)..
It's okay to overlap a bit and once you're happy with the effect, add a few splatters of mist around the outside of the frame..
one the sides of the stencilled frame, I added a couple of strips of cloud washi tape and denim ribbon, which I first folded over a couple of times and stapled down..
the next step was to add some 12" hand cut strips of patterned paper down the left hand side of the page, and cut out the speech bubbles from the October Afternoon Daily Flash "Snapshots" paper
To finish, I've added some Daily Flash chip frames, stickers, alpha and exclusive flair, along with a bit of stamping with the main kit stamp set..
...how cute is the little arrow stamp?
if you have any lace left over, you might consider using it as a stencil, and there's need to throw it out, it can be added to your next layout! You can even use the brown paper bags as well..I've cut out a section and added it behind the photo on my layout in the post below..
It's great to be back creating for Citrus Twist Kits again after our holiday and the February kits are full of fabulous products.. I'm loving the soft colours used here and the pop of red colour from the chipboard, pop drops and exclusive CTK flair..
I've also added some cool Studio Calico sticker from the Embellie kit and October Afternoon Daily Flash stamp. The large splats were made with and acrylic paint dabber...
You can see the full kit reveal on the CTK blog here! I'll be back later this week with a tutorial using the main kit.. Gx

My dream of having a craft room is still several years off, so for now I scrap at the dining table.. I do have a handy storage area under the window seats in our dining room/lounge room..
I have a shelf in each window seat, supported with pins, with rarely used items underneath, and sitting on the shelves are plastic baskets holding various supplies such as paper punches, stamps, adhesives and alphabet stickers etc..
it's a great way to store things out of site, but not far away when it's time to get your scrap on!
..speaking of which I had a play with my February kit today and here's a little sneak of my first layout..
