Scrap the Girls has a great sketch challenge going on this month..so I had a play with it over the weekend and created this page..I think it might be a new fave..once again I had fun experimenting with background, this time using gesso, mists, distress stain, ink and pencil..
scrapping with lots of flowers is definitely a style out of my comfort zone, but due to the 'challenge' and encouragement of Alz and Kylie, I gave it a go.. and here is the result..
I created a soft watercolour background, with minimal other things other than the cluster of flowers.. including a die-cut, handmade white fabric flower, yo-yo, paper roses and pearl clusters from D-Lish..
and to finish a very soft flower stamp on the background and journal card..
I've had a great deal of fun scrapping these 4 challenges..thanks so much Amanda and the D-Lish team for hosting the event ;) Gx
I loved Karyn's challenge at the D-Lish Scraps5th birthday crop..using the technique of 'painting with plastic'...I've used a few different mists and purple twinking waters to create the background, then layered with paper and transparency scraps, tag and banner..
this gorgeous handmade flower was left over from one of my Citrus Twist kits..
thanks for visiting!.. I'll be back soon with a couple more challenges..Gx
It's been a fun weekend joining in with D-Lish Scraps5th Birthday Bonanza and playing along with a few of the challenges.. this one was created using Kylie's cool sketch.. I've gone for a really subtle stencilled background using The Crafter's Workshop template and some grey mist.., I've also added touches of gesso and mists/gelatoes, ink and pencil lines..
the vintage button was a fave in my stash and the cute wooden heart button is from D-Lish..
the word sticker is from Jillibean Soup and I've inked it red for a pop of colour!
Thanks for stopping by..I'll be back with some more challenges over the next couple of days..x
It's been so long since I did this challenge..it was always a fave, and I've finally found a spare moment, having just scraped it in on the last day of the month.. the challenge was to take inspiration from the new Scrap the Girls blog header. I just realised I've use no pattern paper at all on this page..think that's a first!..
I've created the background using TCW Balzer Designs mini scallop flower, with mists, ink and stamps..
..and embellished with washi, MME buttons, enamel dots along with flowers and leaves form D-Lish Scraps
