After a disappointing season last summer, we are very pleased to
have bumper crop of Kentish cherries this time {we beat the birds!}
Kentish are not a sweet variety but are beautiful when preserved or
made into jam. We usually get 2~3 preserving jars to use over the
next few months and I make a couple of cherry and almond tarts.
I will make these after Christmas and will post the recipe then
Jem was doing her usual trick of one in the bowl, one in her mouth!
She loves tart fruit ~ lemons and red currants are often devoured!
it always suprises me when I see posts like this, as we are locked into winter and somewhere else I've never been is having a summer, and yet it's still Christmas!
imagine being able to pick cherries at anytime !

I am not kidding, cherries are my favourite fruit, fancy you having your own tree. Cherries are really expensive to buy over here, I guess they are in Australia too. I am in the club of pick one, eat one too! x

I'm with you Jem - I love kentish cherries. They are nice stewed with a drop of sugar and served with custard too : ) But preserved beats the rest!
