love you > GDT Studio 1440/K+ Challenges

Not much scrapping has been going on here lately..but this month I'm on the GDT for the Kraft+ October challenge.. along with the lovely Sandra Allan from Studio Fourteen40 and we're sharing posts using some gorgeous embellishments from S1440.. The Challenge this month is such a beautiful one!..check it out here.. it's all about feathers and natural elements and of course the classic kraft background..

Here's my take..

The gorgeous wood veneer feathers (original and #2) fit the criteria perfectly. After painting the tips with gesso, added a few silver birch twigs and loosely wrapped them all together in embroidery thread and securing the bundle with glue dots..

I’ve added select words from the Unknown Destination and She is Beautiful Use Your Words, The journal spot is from Always 2 little labelz collection

the ‘love you’ flair makes a perfect title for the layout and is available in Confetti set #7

GDT studio 1440 > you climbed a mountain..

It's time to share another creation today, using some gorgeous products from Studio fourteen40...

I've used some new release wood veneer stars and Thrift Shop Labelz

and a fave veneer would have to be this feather! I've teamed it with a tin button flair from the 'everyday' set #4

GDT studio fourteen40 > dream

I was recently asked by a lovely scrappy friends Sandra to guest design for her little Aussie Co. Studio Fourteen40.. of course I said YES!.. you can check out the Studio1440 blog and store here, there's lots of delicious flair buttons, wood veneer and quite a bit more..

here is my first page 'dream'

I’ve coloured the sweet vellum butterfly (soon to be released) to co-ordinate with the background; using a combination of distress ink and glimmer mist

the journal tag with ampersand is from the 'thriftshop' labelz' set..

the flair is from the 'dali #1' set.. and the crush ribbon adds a lovely soft texture when gathered and fastened with tiny attachers..

the little arrowhead wood veneers are a new release..

you have my heart > APOCD > CSI

During March A Piece of Cake Designs is sponsoring weekly challenges at CSI (Color, Story, Inspiration) and the design team will be sharing their layouts on the APOCD blog and at CSI.. I've chosen the first challenge and here is my take using the Feb main cake kit..

I've added some hidden journaling on the Elle's Studio paper..

I painted the thickers and also leaves on the hand cut flowers with an aqua glimmer mist..

A&R > APOCD

I'm sharing my final layout as guest designer at A Piece of Cake Designs today.. For the background on this page, I couldn't decide which side of the Crate Paper "curio" paper to use.. I LOVE both!, so I decided to cut a strip off one side, flipped it around and stuck both pieces together!

Next I added some gesso and mists to the background and layered paper, stickers, ephemera die-cuts including the left over circle frame (as used in my "love this moment" layout) I've also used an APOCD exclusive cherry flair from the "painted version 2" collection and added some grey thread behind..

It's been so much fun designing for APOCD this month..a BIG thank you to the lovely Raquel for having me xox

at the fashion show > APOCD

hi there..I'm back again with another layout as Nov guest designer at A Piece of Cake Designs using the fun "main cake" kit.. I've used a couple of sections of the kraft paper here, keeping the rest of the background white, then filled in the diagonal design with lots of little details..

I've also splattered some white, pink and blue mist around to match the gorgeous colours in the kit..

love this moment > APOCD

here is my 2nd layout as Nov Guest Designer at A Piece of Cake Designs, using the gorgeous "Main Cake" kit.. I've used just one piece of pattern paper on this page; Heidi Swapp's Mixed Company "good life" ..

..along with the ephemera pack and the little die-cut circle left-over frame, which I've bent a bit for extra texture..

I love the exclusive flairs in the kit and used this one as my title as well..

guesting at APOCD..

I was thrilled to be asked to be Guest Designer at A Piece of Cake Designs by the lovely Raquel recently and I've been having lots of fun playing with this gorgeous Main Cake Kit!

the colours are so beautiful and go together effortlessly against the white cardstock..

I've added some white machine stitching on the butterfly die-cuts, today word and vellum and obscured some of the paper under the vellum strip to add some softness..
