@17 > KIU march challenge

I created this layout whilst at the recent (and totoally AMAZING) escape2create retreat in Port Lincoln, SA.. using the March challenge at Kraft it Up.. It's another fun challenge, you just need to incorporate a list of some sort.. My eldest daughter Rhi turned 18 a week ago, so I chose to document some of the things she enjoyed doing at 17... I do a page like this every year for each of my girls.. 

 all the papers used here came from my scrap paper box..I love scrapping this way and tucking in little pieces to build up layers..

for some reason, I can't remember where the flair is from, so if you know, please enlighten me ;)

coffee love > KIU feb challenge

It's been far too long between challenges, but after finding some free time on my hands this weekend, the first one I went for was Kraft it Up..this month its a fun, easy challenge to scrap something you love..of course I had to go with my caffeine crush..

I can't get enough of layering on my pages at the moment, and it seems like I've gone a bit crazy this time, with lots of patterned paper scraps and thread offcuts..

 

most papers are from 6x6 pads and I've added a few vintage buttons and dress pattern pieces..

this month's challenge at Kraft it Up is to scrap a page featuring either flair buttons, wood veneer or enamel dots.. the hardest thing is to choose which one to feature as they are all so much fun to work with.. I chose wood veneer using stars from SODAlicious and the rest are from Studio Calico, which I stained with a walnut ink..

I've also had a play with a couple of the new Ronda Palazzari Designs templates - mini kaleidoscope and mini baubles. The sunburst flower stamp is from SODAlicious..

Oct @ KIU is all about the colours..

It's time for another fun challenge at Kraft It Up..take a look here.. I must admit, initally I was a little thrown by colour navy..as it's not usually one I use but it combines so well with the orange, white and kraft.. here's my take..

I've used more paper scraps, paper punch off-cuts, washi, stamps, and vintage dress patterns and buttons..

 the flair badge is from Bluebird Chic and I've already mentioned how much I love the BG Persimmon garland in my CTK posts..but here it is again, on the 4th layout with plenty left over.. A recent find at a local craft store was these gorgeous textured love heart stickers from Martha Stewart..I've layered 2 together for extra dimension..

Have you seen the Kraft it Up challenge this month? It's based on a fun sketch and here is my take...To create the background I've used gesso then overlayed wtih mists using a circle stencil from TCW/Balzer Designs..both sides were used to achieve and positive and negative image, then I've added some random handwrting in a white gel pen..

 

I've used this cute journaling tag from Chic Tags and little Pebbles peg..both were in recent JBS Mercantile kits..

The cool typewriter flair is from Evalicious..

It's Spring in Australia..my fave season of the all and I loved using these bright spring colours, the orange and teal are one of my fave combos.. thanks for visiting!

in the zone..

..my comfort zone that is, because this month at Kraft it Up you can scrap your own style! Here is my take using quite a few of the techniques and products I'm enjoying right now..such as triangles, washi, layering, vellum, gesso, mists, geometric patterns and tags..

and the Travel Girl line from October Afternoon, my SODAlicious letter stencil and stamps..

..A Flair for Buttons, thread and of course an all time fave embellishment - buttons ♥

'PL inspired' @ KIU

this month's theme at Kraft it Up did initially seem rather challenging and I probably over-thought it but once I started using some instagram snaps from a recent trip to Melbourne it did seem to come together easily.. I've used lots of scraps on this one..

this cool flair is from Evalicious..

I painted a raw veneer arrow with some Mister Huey mist..

Make sure you check out the amazing inspo from the rest of the DT and have a crack at this one..you'll be glad you did!

there's another fabulously fun challenge up at Kraft it Up this month.. and the theme is vintage! Of course you can interpret vintage however you like and I guess my layout could be described as 'modern vintage'.. Modern in the use of colour and technique but still incorporating vintage elements including quite a few items that I've had in my stash for many years!

just love the JBS tag, and vintage label..and the gorgeous little pearl flowers came from D-Lish Scraps.. For the background I've used pieces of vintage dress pattern and gesso.. 

I've also used a JBS stencil and SODAlicious stamps with white ink to add a few highlights..and added a wood veneer heart which I stained with distress ink..

oops ~ better late than never..

For some reason I overlooked sharing this one..it was form KIU's March challenge, which was a very cool sketch from Angela at ScrapFriends..

I've used lots of Studio Calico Darling Dear on this one, along with some recycled tissue paper from Paper Issues, washi from PaperVine and a Kaisercraft stamp..

wishing you a creative weekend coming up..with the cold and wet weather we're having I know that's what I'll be up to!

Kraft it Up has such a fun challenge going at the moment..to use some recycled product packaging on your layout!.. now that's something we all have oodles of!... so really hope you can have a go!..here is what I came up with..

I've used a glassine bag which had Evalicious flair inside, and a kraft chevron bag from Citrus Twist.. and the groovy packaging from Studio Calicio veneer shapes.. 

a great thing about recycling pretty bags on your layout is that you can put some hidden journaling inside..as I did on this layout..I wrote a message to my beautiful girl ;)

The thickers above were a plain white and I coloured them a cool lime using ink and markers.. I love how the marker has roughed up the edges a bit..
